4/30 Temple of Truth

Theme: Trusting in God

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple."

Reflection:

This verse reminds us that we are God’s temple with our bodies and minds belonging to Him. Because of this, we are called to honor and glorify the Lord in how we care for ourselves. Just as a temple is maintained with intention and respect, we should be diligent in prioritizing our health, hygiene, and the way we present our bodies. Caring for our physical well-being equips us to carry out the work God has entrusted to us.

It also shapes how we dress and carry ourselves. We are not dressing to seek approval or attention from others, but to reflect a heart focused on the Lord. In the same way, our minds require careful stewardship. What we choose to watch, listen to, and dwell on influences our relationship with God and our ability to live faithfully. Since we are created in His image, caring for His temple is not just about outward actions, but inward devotion. When we honor God with both our bodies and our minds, we live as faithful stewards of what He has given us.

Questions to Consider:

Where can I improve in being a steward of God's temple? How can this be done?

Application:

Create a new habit this week that prioritizes God's temple. This could include sleeping more, watching sermons online, or reading verse commentary.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You for Your holy temple. It is so special to have Your Spirit inside of us so that we may discern what is from You and what is from the world. Lord, we pray that we can choose to honor and glorify You with our bodies this week, paying special attention to the way we dress, act, and workout. We love You so much. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
