Theme: Trusting in God's Plan
Isaiah 40:31 "But they who wait in the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
Reflection:
Hope in our savior, Jesus Christ, is not just wishful thinking that things may occur, but it is a confident expectation based on God's unchanging, loving character. Hoping in the Lord gives us an eternity to look forward to and work for. This expectation keeps us going when we experience persecution, trials, or exhaustion. When we put our hope in Him, the small things of the world become so trivial. This perspective makes it easier for us to deny those things, pushing us to live in the world without becoming of the world.
What does it mean to put our hope in the Lord? This means to continuously pursuing Him with the hope that you will be rewarded in Heaven. This means serving Him and glorifying His name through all of our actions so that we repay Him for His endless love.
Questions to Consider:
Has your salvation led to a renewal of strength? If not, how can you surrender your worries to the Lord so that your focus is solely on Him?
Application:
Write down a description of what you believe Heaven looks like. When times get difficult, think back to this place and your problems will seem so much smaller.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We humbly come before You with our eyes solely focused on You. We pray that anything causing distraction in our lives is taken away so that we may fully surrender to Your love. Lord, we thank You that we can be fully confident in Your loving character. We pray that as a new week begins, we can search for signs of Your goodness throughout our days, and our strength will be renewed. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
