3/16 Crucified with Christ

Theme: Living for Jesus

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and it’s no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me"

Reflection:

When we fully commit our lives to following and serving Christ, our spirits are made new and we are wiped clean by His grace. It is important to acknowledge that becoming a follower of Christ is not merely attending Church or listening to worship music. Rather, it is proclaiming our faith through our actions and speech as we are newly living for a greater purpose. It seems impossible to change from our old ways relying on our own strength. However, when we are immersed in the Word of God and living to serve Him, it becomes a natural desire to do His will. Overall, this verse encourages us to act as though Christ is within us not simply stating that He is within us.

Questions to Consider:

If someone were to follow you around all day, would your actions portray that you are a disciple of Christ or would your mouth simply state it? Are you a disciple of Christ on Sundays because of a convicting sermon or is your heart on fire for Jesus, desiring to glorify Him through your actions every day?

Application:

Take note of one thing that you consistently do that contrasts the Word of God; this could include swearing, passing judgment, or being quick to anger. Once you have recognized that weakness, discover what the Lord says about it in Scripture and try to eliminate it from your life.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for giving us the gift of Your grace that wipes our slate clean and allows us to be born again. Lord, let us not be ignorant with this gift by continuing our old habits and holding onto our sin. Help us to align our actions, thoughts, and speech with how You have called us to live. By following Your path, we pray that our hearts radiate Your love, inspiring others to grow in closer relation to You. All of this is in your Holy name, Amen.
