Theme: Living for Jesus
Matthew 18:4 "Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven"
Reflection:
In the Bible, we commonly see the term that refers to having a child-like faith. What does this really look like? Picture a young child, full of wonder, trusting that their parents know what’s best and eagerly following their guidance. This is how God calls us to serve Him: with humility, love, awe, and eagerness. Just as children naturally look to their parents for direction, we are called to seek God in every situation, relying on His wisdom above our own. Additionally, children are curious, always asking questions and longing to understand more. In the same way, as followers of Christ, we should continually pursue a deeper knowledge of God. This includes learning about His character, recognizing His presence, and growing in awareness of how He works in our lives.
Questions to Consider:
What does it look like to humble yourself before the Lord? How does this deepen your relationship with Him?
Application:
Write down the common attributes and behaviors of children towards their parents. Now think about how each of these attributes compare to your relationship with the Lord.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being a loving Father who strives for us to be in relation with You. Your wisdom, humility, and love are characteristics to be admired as we continuously seek You. Lord, encourage us to reflect a childlike faith as we seek Your face and look for Your guidance every day. Show us that we can imitate children around us to grow in our faith and better honor You. Lord, we love You and pray that we can express this endless love by humbling ourselves before You. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
