4/13 Goodness is Glorified

Theme: Living for Jesus

Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven."

Reflection:

Our role as Christians, is to glorify God by making an impact on those around us. We can talk about our faith all we want but our actions are much more influential on the hearts of nonbelievers. Our actions should reflect the light of the Lord by spreading wisdom, kindness, and the hope of eternal life. When those who do not follow Christ observe our internal peace, they tend to wonder "what is it they have that I do not". The answer is an intimate relationship with Jesus. This is one of the amazing parts of following Christ: we are able to share the Good News and they key to salvation with everyone around us.

Questions to Consider:

How can you perform good deeds that outwardly glorify God? How does your character reflect or not reflect your Father?

Application:

Talk to one nonbeliever about your faith each day this week. Not only share the Good News of Jesus Christ and tell your testimony but listen to what they have to say as well. You do not have to have all of the knowledge of the Bible to preach it to others, the knowledge that Jesus saved you is enough.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We just want to thank You for the light that You have shined upon us. You have transformed our hearts and moved us to be vessels of Your character. Lord, give us the courage to spread this light to believers and nonbelievers around us so that they may observe Your good works. Everything is for Your glory, God, and I pray that our actions reflect the goodness of Your salvation. We pray that those around us ask us what it is that they are missing and we are able to share the Good News with them. Lord, we rejoice in Your goodness each day. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
