Theme: Living for Jesus
Romans 8:35 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?"
Reflection:
A reference that is commonly used for God's presence in our life is an unmoving, mighty hand above us. It is this good hand that makes us feel close to the Lord and guides our lives. God's hand is not impacted by the human limitations that battle. Therefore, although persecution and distress may lead us to step out from under God's hand, His hand remains in waiting. Waiting for us to return to Him. Waiting for us to repent and admit our dependence on Him. It is up to us to return under His guidance. His love never ceases. None of these human limitations could cause God to love us less, despite how far we stray from Him.
Questions to Consider:
When do you feel farthest from Christ? Do you take ownership for pulling away from Him?
Application:
Write down all of the things in your life that seem to be pulling you away from God. Talk to God and ask Him that His will be done: He will either take them away from you or help you to glorify Him throughout.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You that Your love for us is unending and unchanging. Lord, we understand that the human limitations we experience do not cause You to love us less or give up on us. We pray that when we discover ourselves stepping out from Your guidance, that You bring us back by reminding us that You have been waiting all along.
