5/13 Revealing the Truth

Theme: Living for Jesus

1 Samuel 3:7 "Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him."

Reflection:

Samuel, a spiritual leader and devoted follower of Christ, began his life as a good man without purpose. Although he had overall good morals, it did not matter due to the fact that he did not have a relationship with God. In our society, we often see people who are kind and patient but lacking a faithful foundation. This is why it is our calling to spread the Word of God to as many people possible, for we may be the only encounter someone has with the Bible.

In Romans 10:14, Paul asks the people "how are they to hear without someone preaching?" We are not sent to Earth only to discuss our faith with believers. Rather, we are called to share our walk with Christ with those who are far from God and numb to His presence. Us preaching the gospel could lead to someone's salvation and newfound identity in Christ. I mean, who are we to hold back the Good News that will lead to a fulfilling life and eternal peace with God?!

Questions to Consider:

How can you spread the gospel this week? How can you be bold in your faith despite the push-back you may recieve?

Application:

Reflecting on your lifestyle before knowing the Lord and before His Word was revealed to you. Make a list of actions you can partake in that will push those around you away from this life and into one with Christ.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We want to come before You today and thank You for transforming our lives from nothing to something with meaning and purpose. Although we did not know Your truth then, we know You now. We pray that we can spread this knowledge and wisdom to those around us despite persecution we may face. Lord, remind us to stay strong and persevere during these moments as Jesus did when He was persecuted. Lord, all of the trials we encounter are worth it if they bring even one person closer to You. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
