Theme: Living for Jesus
Proverbs 3:3-4 "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."
Reflection:
By closely following the Lord, His enduring love and constant faithfulness is instilled within us. Although it may not feel like we are able to hold these positive characteristics amidst suffering, we have the Holy Spirit within us. The Holy Spirit guides our footsteps to align with God's plan for us, giving us the wisdom, strength, and courage to become more like Jesus. Jesus remained faithful when in the desert, publicly abused and humiliated, and betrayed by his closest friends. Surely with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can remain faithful through our own challenges and persecution. Not only are we called to be faithful but built up in love. Despite everything people did to Jesus, he continued to love them so abundantly that he died on the cross for them. We are called to love one another unconditionally just as Jesus did.
Questions to Consider:
Are there moments where you find yourself losing composure? How does this test your faith?
Application:
Next time you find yourself getting irritated or unpleasant, take a moment to be still in the presence of the Lord. Welcome Him into this difficult time and lean on His word.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to be with us during trials and triumphs, gently guiding our steps towards righteousness. Lord, we pray that we can remain faithful, loving, and kind especially during times when our character is tested. Let the circumstances not change our composure. Thank You for testing our faith each day so that we may follow You more intimately. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
