3/22 Daily Discipline

Theme: Trusting in God's Plan

Hebrews 12:11 "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."

Reflection:

God’s discipline is not a sign of His absence, but of His love. Just as a good father corrects and guides his children so they can grow into who they are meant to be, God allows trials, tests of faith, and challenges to shape us spiritually. In the middle of hardship, it is natural to find ourselves wondering "If God is so good, why is this happening to me?". However, our perspective is limited, and we cannot see the bigger picture as God does. God puts these seasons of struggle in our lives to emphasize our dependence on Him and bring us closer to Him. When we rely on Him instead of ourselves, we begin to experience a deeper relationship with Him, one that leads to a joy and peace far greater than what is visible.

Questions to Consider:

Can you think of a time when a challenge helped you grow spiritually or strengthened your faith? What made it difficult to trust God during this hard season?

Application:

When faced with a challenge or trial, reflect on how this will lead to growth in your faith. Write down how you will prioritize growing your faith and your dependence on God in these hard times.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us enough to discipline and shape us into faithful followers of Your Word.  Through trials and tribulations, You mold us into people who reflect Christ and impact those around us. Lord, help us to seek You not only in times of need, but also in seasons of joy and peace. We trust in Your purpose and give You all the glory. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
