4/1 Knock for Nearness

Theme: Trust in God's Plan

Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock."

Reflection:

The Lord yearns for us to be in relation with Him, opening our hearts to His word and aligning our will with His. God never ceases to reach for us. Instead, He continues to stand at the door of our hearts knocking until we openly receive His love and guidance. This verse shows that it is our choice to let Him into our lives or continue being slaves to sin. Once we open the door for the Lord, we will receive hope, healing, and a transformed heart. It only takes one decision to reap the benefits of acceptance, love, and instruction: the decision of opening the door of our hearts and committing our lives to God.

Questions to Consider:

Where in your life have you been resisting God's involvement? How can you let Him into these areas without shame?

Application:

Think about the sections of your heart that you are embarrassed of and have been trying to hide from God. In a meaningful conversation with God, admit this to Him and allow Him to move within these areas.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for consistently knocking at the door of our hearts. Thank You for persevering even after we deny You time and time again. You never give up on us, especially when we are not fully open and honest with You. Lord, we understand that You know and love all aspects of our sinful hearts. We ask that you remind us of this when we feel ashamed of our faults and weaknesses. Lord, help us to open our hearts to receiving Your word and intervention in our lives. We love you, Lord. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
