Theme: Keeping Him at the Center
Psalm 3:4 "I cried aloud to the Lord, and He answered me from His holy hill."
Reflection:
This verse is proof that when we reach for the Lord, He responds. At times, this can be hard to recognize because He moves according to His perfect timing, not our own. We may be wondering when God will deliver us from pain or when He will answer our prayers. Yet God's plan for His children unfolds perfect timing. When we try to rush His timing, we often overlook the quiet ways He is already working and providing. Additionally, God will answer our prayers in ways that honor and glorify Him. This may result in unexpected responses that we do not realize are truly needed.
Questions to Consider:
Where have you been rushing God in answering your prayers? Has abiding by His timing encouraged frustration instead of patience?
Application:
Create a simple phrase or prayer to God that can be repeated during times of frustration or desperation. This statement should remind you to be patient and trust in His timing.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for continuously answering our prayers. You answer our calls to You during times of anger, isolation, joy, and anxiety. Help us to remember that although You may not answer us how we are expecting, Your omniscient response is perfect. Lord, we ask that the frustration and impatience within us dwindles as we learn to trust in Your plan. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
