Theme: Keeping Him at the Center
Proverbs 24:14 "Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off"
Reflection:
The book of Proverbs constantly speaks of gathering wisdom so that we can draw nearer to God and live out His plan for us. What is wisdom and how can we apply it? Wisdom is the instruction of God which leads to discernment of our everyday decisions and actions. It is not only receiving the Word of God with an open heart but applying it to all areas of our lives. Finding wisdom looks like immersing ourselves in God's Truth and transforming our lives and heart posture accordingly. Constantly keeping wisdom within our soul leads to a purposeful future serving the Lord. Wisdom also leads to hope of eternal life with Jesus Christ. The promises should be enough for us to be hungry for God's Word and to learn more about His character.
Questions to Consider:
Do you pick out certain pieces of God's instruction to follow and ignore the others? What areas of your life can you seek further knowledge from God?
Application:
Apply a new piece of God's wisdom listed in Proverbs each day this week. This could include being careful who you surround yourself with, maintaining obedience when faced with temptation, storing God's Word close to your heart, or inviting God into everyday decisions. Proverbs is filled with pieces of information that are meant to be applied to your life so use that instruction.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for making Your wisdom accessible to us. We pray that as this week continues, we continuously look to You for knowledge and guidance. Give us the strength to apply the information You have gifted to us each day so that we may walk in Your straight path. Lord, help us to put our pride aside and invite You into all decisions knowing that Your will shall be done. We love you, Lord. All of this is in Your holy name, Amen.
